Jody Braithwaite was introduced to online bingo through a friend and she took to it like a duck to water. The online bingo world offered the perfect combination of camaraderie and excitement. She could not remember having so much fun and meeting so many people, all in the comfort of her own living room. Jody never heard from Reggie and assumed that he had met another lass upon whom to lavish his attentions. It was on a whim that Jody decided to use her old nickname as a bingo chat room name. She had been searching for an appropriate online bingo name, but nothing seemed to fit. One night, she had a strange dream that involved bingo. (Many regular players find bingo becoming a part of their dream-time). In the dream, which she describes as eerie and unusual, she was back in high-school standing by the pond where Reggie first kissed her. When she woke up she recalled how in real life, when Reggie kissed her, a big frog in the pond started croaking and from that day forth they called each other Froggy. The dream prompted Jody to call herself Froggy7 in the bingo world.
It was a surprise to Jody when she spotted another bingo player with the chat name Froggy in one of the online bingo chat rooms. She smiled sadly at the coincidence and never once thought that the bingo chat room name belonged to her first boyfriend. The sad truth was that she had heard from another old school friend that Reggie Forrester had gone missing while vacationing in Thailand when the tsunami struck in 2004. However, soon Jody as Froggy7 was chatting to the other bingo Froggy. The mystery Froggy kept cheering for her when she won and was very sympathetic when her bingo numbers didn't get called. Froggy7 kept running into Froggy almost every time she logged on to play bingo games. Imagine Jody's amazement when Froggy told her that he'd once had a girlfriend called "Froggy" who he was crazy about but whose family moved to another town. Jody says she went completely cold and had to catch her breath when he mentioned that he sent this girlfriend a letter, but she never wrote back. Jody had to reveal her similar story. In his next line of chat, was a single question that sent her mind reeling. It was simply: "Jody? Is that you?" There was no way Froggy could have guessed her name. Jody froze and then asked him for his name. It was Reggie Forrester.
Jody wondered if she was talking to a ghost in a bingo chat room, but it turned out that Reggie's name had been on the missing list when the tsunami struck. But he had survived. Jody was overwhelmed. She explained how she'd never received a letter from Reggie. The two were amazed at how they had reconnected through online bingo. Today the two Froggy's meet regularly to play online bingo and to reminisce about days gone by.
