So you think you want to extend your love of bingo to actually becoming part of the industry? Well assuming you haven't got the money or inclination to set up your own online Bingo site (and aren't there almost too many of them at the moment?!) you could consider becoming a Bingo Chat Manager.
Here's some information from a site that specialises in matching Chat Room vacancies with applicants:
"• Do you love online bingo?
• Are you warm, friendly and welcoming?
• Want to work from home and get paid to do something you love?"
So there are the basic requisites. I would amplify them by saying that a key objective of the job is to bring pleasure to everyone involved. You need to be customer-focused, have a disposition to be helpful, happy, like people, and be able to be patient, tolerant and occasionally firm. As it's likely you will be the first official contact between a customer and the operators of the site, you'll have to create a good first impression.
Because the Chat Room Manager works online, it's an ideal job for those who want to or have to work at home. Perhaps you have family commitments, looking after an elderly relative, having to do the school run, or maybe you already have a part-time job at home? It may be well-suited to you. However during the period when you are managing, you have to be vigilant and watch over what's going on. You must be on-call during your shift.
But in addition to the pay, you also get to meet and chat along with a lot of friendly people. And because they all love the game you love, Bingo, then that's a real bonus!
If you are interested, just make some enquiries online via your favourite search engine, or maybe contact existing Chat Room Moderators at the sites you like best and perhaps are registered with as customers, to find out if there are any vacancies what the hours are, and the pay etc. You'll need to prepare a CV, and/or complete an online form. You may also be required to have a telephone interview.
Some sites require you to work for free while being trained for a period, say two weeks, and others require you to work a longer period unpaid in order to gain the experience you need to do the job properly. It's also a period when you can decide if the job is really for you, and for the site (and its customers to see if they like you!).
But if you really do want to become a Chat Manager, and think you meet the requirements, then go for it. I was on a social network the other day and bumped into a Chat Room Manager and she said: "…it is the best move I ever made, love my job and would say go for it if u are interested in doing it, great fun too!"
Best of luck if you are going to search for a Chat Manager job, and if not, then good luck at your Bingo games!
