How can you win at Online Bingo?

As an ex bingo Caller, I don’t know how many times I’ve Been asked that question- and not just by players new to the game! It’s interesting that some people believe there is a mythical mystical formula you can apply that somehow “fixes” a win for you.  A sort of combination of superstition and ritual that will overcome the laws of chance.

And there we have that word, chance. Call it by another name if you prefer- fortune, Lady Luck, fate, Kismet, whatever. Bingo is a game of chance. Unlike Poker, where there is a combination of luck, and skill required, everyone has the same chance of winning at Bingo don’t they?   Well, not quite.  You can increase your chances of winning.

Firstly we must assume that the game of Bingo, whether online or live/land-based, isn’t rigged or fixed. I can’t remember ever having witnessed a game that was “dodgy” and there are enough safeguards to ensure that you are playing in a safe and fair environment these days.

So the best way to increase your chance of winning is to buy more Bingo cards. Hardly earth-shattering, I know, but as with the National Lottery, Scratch cards etc, the more you “invest” in your playing, the greater the chances of winning.  It’s a simple matter of you shortening the odds of you completing your line or full house first, by having more numbers to mark off when called.

The next thing to consider is whether you want to pursue a game where the likelihood of winning is greater but the amount of prize money is small, all the way up to a game where there is a big prize available, but the odds of you netting it are slim. Once you’ve decided what you want, you hunt around your online Bingo provider to find the appropriate Bingo room and game that matches your wishes. The factors to consider in making your choice are: How many players are there in the Room? How many cards can I buy? What are the prizes?

Carefully picking your Room to play in can be an art all to itself- some people regularly play a particular room, because they have become familiar with the other people who frequent it, and indulge in some hearty bantering and chatting. Others choose rooms that fit in with the world outside of Bingo, so they have to play at times dictated by their family or work commitments.

Finally there are things to watch out for that while they won’t actually increase your chances of winning any game, but they will make your Bingo money go further. For example most providers have free games on offer- often to entice you to join a particular online Bingo provider.  Also look out for special offers where any money you deposit into your Bingo account will be matched (or doubled or trebled) by the provider.  There are also loyalty bonuses and special one-off offers to keep an eye open for.

In conclusion, there are no magic formulae for guaranteeing a win in Bingo- if there was, don’t you think I would have used it myself!!

Good luck.
