Rituals for online Bingo (2)

One of my mates, Tristan, was telling me about his favourite times for playing bingo, and his “rituals” for making sure he got the most of his experience.  He plays pretty regularly, every other day, and because he works from home, he usually slots it in during the hour lunch break he gives himself.

Because his PC doubles as a business and leisure machine, he plays from his study, amid the paper and books for his work. I asked how did he do the mental switch between work and playtime, when surrounded by the trappings of work, and in his workplace? He said that it was mostly in the mind. He said that he stops work promptly at midday, closes down his business tabs and (after saving his spreadsheets and letters of course!) and fires up Bingo.co.uk.  He said that he did make a small attempt to change the environment- he puts on his favourite music too… loud Rock n Roll! Must be strange playing Bingo to Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and Chuck Berry! Tristan said that he used the auto-daub feature so that he didn’t have to turn the music down to hear the numbers being called. I asked him what he did in between the games.  He said that he either played the slots, or used his lap-top (set up next to his PC) to game on line. In fact he said that he often was gaming online at the same time as he was playing Bingo! Now is that Multi-tasking! He said his current favourite online game was a free one called “Cursed Gems”, but prior to that he had been addicted to something called Angry Birds on his mobile handset. And then... wait for it... he admitted that sometimes he had all three games on the go at once!

I asked whether he chatted online during his lunchtime Bingo sessions. He said that that wasn’t one of the features that attracted him to online Bingo. He preferred to talk face to face with his mates, although he said that he had had one or two “amorous advances”, as he called them, while online! I wondered what would happen if all this happened at once: Needing only one more Bingo number to win, Final level guardian in Cursed Gems, Angry Birds countdown to a new screen.. and an amorous advance via the chat room?  He said that in that unlikely event, Bingo would win out. Hey there’s money at stake and he would want to savour the excitement of a win!

Well, each to his own, but it seems to me that I’d be too exhausted to return back into work mode after all that!

Good luck to you all whenever and wherever you play!
