The Advantages of Online Bingo (part two)

An interesting area of debate has been whether online bingo or land-based “live” Bingo is “fairer” to players. By that I mean does one have the advantage over the other in being less prone to mistakes, fiddles, disputes, clarity, or a lack of randomness in the numbers called.
Having been a Bingo caller in the past, I know that in the pre-digital age there were often mistakes at live Bingo events.  Examples: The blowing machine for generating random numbers from Ping-Pong balls with numbers on them once went into over-drive, blowing the fragile casing apart and sending Bingo balls shooting out into the Hall. Game abandoned... when one person only had one number to be called to win the Jackpot!  That’s an extreme example, but there are countless others where calls of “Bingo!” have not been heard by the caller, or the caller has miscalled a number, or duplicate Bingo cards have been printed and sold by mistake.
Most live Bingo events now have much more sophisticated equipment, but most still use a real Bingo caller (thank heavens for that I say!) and as always where humans interact with humans, misunderstandings and disputed can arise.
The chances of that happening with online Bingo are much more unlikely. For one, there can be no misunderstanding of the number called. For Bingo Café you can hear the number called, see it on screen, and even have it automatically checked against your cards and if appropriate, daubed.
The second big area of debate is whether online or live Bingo is better for socialising, chatting, meeting people, making friends, having a laugh, sharing experiences etc.  On the one hand, live interaction- seeing, hearing, and physically shaking hands or cheek-kissing old and new friends is great at live Bingo. No substitute for it.  BUT... with online Bingo, you will meet people from much further afield than the catchment radius for your local Bingo Hall. And with social media being so huge in popularity (Facebook, Twitter, Messaging/Texting using mobile phones etc.) a lot of people like to chat in chat rooms using their keyboard.
So in conclusion I would sum up by saying that online Bingo has distinct advantages, and has provided additional options and choices for playing your favourite game.  And that must be good!
No get your coat on and go out to your local Bingo Hall or put your feet up, switch on the Lap-Top or PC, but whatever you do, play Bingo!
