You may have seen a recent survey conducted of over 500 online bingo players, to see what effect the gamer had had on their social lives.
Nearly a half reported that they had established good friendships through online Bingo, usually in the chat rooms. And a fifth said that they had taken this further and met up with people who didn’t live too far away, to socialise, chat face to face, and even go together to live land-based Bingo.
I had some chats with friends online recently and started doing my own mini-survey. This may come as no surprise (or as Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers would say “Stating the bloomin’ obvious!”) but people are all different, and get different things out of online Bingo!
A large proportion of those I chatted to said that they did like the interaction with other people, but a few said they’d prefer to “talk not type” but still liked the online conversations. One or two said that while they didn’t mind a little bit of online chatting, it could become irritating and even distracting- particularly if there was someone monopolising the conversations, and giving out opinionated views or clever-clever put-downs. I have to say I’ve never found that at Bingo Café.. we have a better class of online player don’t we? ! One was a veteran online Poker player (Texas Hold ‘Em) who said that after a few hours of intense online Poker playing, he liked to unwind and cool down with a few games of Bingo that required no intense concentration or bluffing. That’s ok! We take all sorts here!
A couple of people just play online Bingo to relax… and there’s nothing wrong with that. Quite a few said that they were hell-bent on getting a big win, or a number of big wins because they had specific things they wanted to use the money for. As we know, in Bingo Café the wins can come in all sizes, modest, big and humungous! Interestingly no-one said that they didn’t care if they won or lost. So it’s clear that Bingo is first and foremost a gambling game where you want to win. And the good thing is that we are all equal.. it cannot be dominated by skilled or professional players.. we all have the same chance of winning, adjusted only by the number of cards we buy. And that makes us all one community of equals.. heavens above, it seems like I’m writing the Communist Manifesto Here!
Next game just about to start, so yes down and good luck!
